PIC Development Board

The development board contains all the necessary hardware to run all of the demos using the SFCLIB library. It has three different Flash card sockets (SD/MMC, miniSD, and microSD/TransFlash), but only one connector can be used at a time.

The development board also contains a few extras as well. There are three push button switches on the board, labeled A, B, and C, that can be used for any purpose the user desires in his/her own design. There is also a prototype area on the board arranged in a grid of 15 by 35 pads on 1/10-inch centers for any additional circuitry you may need. There are 35 pads bussed on the top of the grid for VCC (3.3V), and 35 pads bussed on the bottom for grounds.

This development board comes with a PIC microcontroller pre-programmed with the DEMO1 application. You can use this board and demo to see how all the library functions work, but the board does not come with any sources.

To Speed Development of your own Software development the development board has an MPLAB ICD 2 In-Circuit Debugger jack for easy programming and debugging. A built-in reset switch is located at the rear of the board for resetting. The board includes a 28-pin, 0.3” socket for the PIC microcontroller and ships with a PIC18LC2610, installed and pre-programmed with the demo application. However, any pin-compatible PIC microcontroller can be placed in the socket and the SFCLIB examples recompiled for the new target PIC as long as there is enough flash and RAM on the part to support the selected SFCLIB options. (SFCLIB sold separately.)
